Missionary Work

My friend Megan, shes the sales manager for Hard Rock, and I have planned a trip to go visit the temple lights next week! Shes asked a few questions about the temple so I thought this was a great way to get her to come visit and feel the amazing spirit of the temple grounds. I've never been so I'm pretty excited! She seems really excited too. Maybe, if all goes well, I'll give her a present at the end of the visit...the most amazing book ever, The Book of Mormon. Keep your fingers crossed!

Reading

So growing up, I never read. I remember Jason and I trying to force ourselves to read...quick story. In UT they had year round school and we were on a different track then the rest of the neighborhood. So when we were off school, no one else was AKA 2 bored kids at home with nothing to do. So, Jason forced me to read. All I remember was sitting on the couch with my book waiting for Jason to turn his page, then, naturally, I’d turn mine. What!? I couldn't let him think I was a slow reader! Moral of the story, i didn't read growing up, just didn't happen.

However, this life style was bound to change when I had a book lover roommate in college (thanks lyssa) who also made/forced me to read. Not to mention my loving husband who was an English major. So yea, I have converted to the reading side and I have to say, I missed out as a kid. Poor lil doss.

The first series I got into, Twilight. (Come on I was in UT, it was everywhere) and I’m grateful for it because I was hooked and it made me love reading. So, getting to the purpose of this blog, I went to the midnight showing of New Moon last weekend with some girls in the ward (I love the ward!) and it was a great movie, much better then the first. Although, there wasn’t quite the same energy in the theater as Twilight’s midnight showing in Heber UT with a theater full of crazy high school girls. Any who, I encourage all to see it, even if you have not read the books it’s just a good movie. But, as always, "the book was much better!" :)

love ya

Weekend get-a-way!

We have the best ward!! last weekend 6 couples rented a cabin together in the Shanadoa Mtns. for a fabulous get a way. Poor jer had to come up late due to TFA meetings, waste of time, but we had fun staying up late, watching movies, games and lots of food. We did get a chance to go hiking Sunday and it was really pretty. most of the leaves had fallen but there was still a sweet waterfall.

Apartment

We finally are getting our apt in order. hooray!
We purchased a lovely couch on craigs list and we love it!

And best of all, WE GOT CURTAINS! I LOVE EM. they help make it feel so much more like a home!

Jeremy's amazing mother, Kayla, came into town a few weeks ago. We had a GREAT time spending Halloween with her at the temple and eating donughs, apple cider (from starbucks, amazing!) and cuddling up under a blanket together (me, jer, and kayla) watching a chick flick. We also stopped by the Hard Rock and had to get matching shirts!

Hard Rock Cafe Rocks!

So for those of you who don't know, I work at Hard Rock Cafe in DC as the Financial Admin and I love it! This month is our Pinktober where we're doing all these charity events for breast cancer. So last week we launched it all off with a big conference thing where Melissa Ethridge came and performed. It was a great day in the office :)
Some servers getting interviewed, nice

Melissa checking out the Memorabilia

Oh and guess who else was at the launch? Look familar?

Of course not, not yet anyways. These are the girls from the DC Real World. They're still filming so you haven't seen them on TV yet. Pretty cool though, they were nice!

Look who I ran into on the street the other day...

What a good looking man!
