Yummy German Chocolate Cake

Well I made some German Chocolate cake w/ a twist a few weeks ago and have found myself to be the only one eating it. This is a direct result of living without my husband the last few weeks. Meaning the cake is very tasty and I'm glad I don't have to share it. :) It also means I've been trying to increase my time on the tread meal each day....it's a fair trade off if you ask me!

so, try it out!

1 package of German Chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients it needs)

1 egg
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar

1.5 cup chocolate chips

3 oz package vanilla instant pudding mix.

1 cup milk

8 oz package cool whip

  1. Mix 1 package of German Chocolate cake as directed on box and set aside.
  2. in a separate bowl, mix: (I used electric hand mixer)
    1 egg
    8 oz cream cheese
    1/2 cup sugar
1 cup chocolate chips and stir well.
  3. Pour cake batter in 11x15 greased cake pan.
  4. Place spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture in cake batter. Swirl w/ table knife getting a marble effect.
  5. Bake at 350 as directed on package until toothpick comes out clean. (It took me longer to bake then directed on the box)

    frosting:
  6. Make 3 oz package vanilla instant pudding mix using 1 cup milk, not the milk amount on the box.
  7. fold in 8 oz package cool whip to pudding
  8. Refrigerate cake before topping with frosting.
  9. Crush up ½ cup chocolate chips and sprinkle on top of frosting.
Serve w/ a smile! Enjoy, its soo yummy
