Chicago Bears and One Republic

Jeremy got an opportunity to go to his first professional football game and it was to see his faviorte team, the Chicago Bears. We took little Harrison with us which probably wasn't the best idea since it was soo loud! I ended up in the mother's room, AKA a small office cubical, for about half of the game just to get out of the noise. But I think Jeremy really enjoyed the game.

Jeremy also got tickets to see one of his favorite bands, One Republic. They finally came to town not on a Sunday so he jumped on the opportunity to go see them. After the noise of the football game, we thought it best to not bring Harrison along. So, he brought my brother, Dustin, with him. I think the concert was a success because Jeremy kept talking about it afterwards for several days!

Arizona Grand with the fam

Every year Jeremy's job rents out a room at the Arizona Grand Resort Hotel for each administrator and their family. This year Dustin watched McKelle and Emory at home for us Friday night so we could go out to dinner with Jeremy's partners. Then, Saturday morning Dustin drove the kids to the hotel and we spent the day at the water park.  We had a good time floating down the lazy river and bouncing up and down in the wave pool. They had big floaties so I just laid on top of one with Harrison strapped to me sleeping. It was great! We even snuck Emory down his first water slide, which he loved! Emory also experienced a bird pooping on his head and neck. It was pretty funny and very gross!

Solar Eclipse

Today we got to see a partial solar eclipse. It had a path all across America and in some parts there was a total eclipse. We watched a lot about it on the TV and it was pretty amazing to watch. It made me want to travel to TX in April of 2024 to experience the next total eclipse!

McKelle and I made a little projector to view the sun out of a cereal box. She was very excited. We went outside every ten minutes or so to see if it had changed at all. Then we'd come inside and draw a picture of what we saw. I'm pretty sure she had no idea what we were doing but she was very excited about it anyways.

Emory's first day of PreK

Emory started Prek today! It is for 2.5 hours in the morning Monday-Thursday and it's at an actual Elementary School. Most of the kids in his class have some kind of special need, down syndrome, speech delays etc., then there are five peer mentors like Emory. It's pretty amazing because there are tons of teachers that come in and help too. So he gets a lot of one on one attention.

The first day was a little surreal for me because I was walking him to school and into his classroom right alongside all the kindergartners too. I felt a little weird having a kid old enough to be at a big kid school! On the car ride there he said he was a little nervous because he didn't know anyone. I said I was always nervous on my first day of school too and it was okay. But, when I picked him up that afternoon, he came walking outside holding hands with his "new best friend." It was precious! He did great and really loved it. I'm excited for him and all that he'll learn this year. He comes home singing different songs already and seems to enjoy painting and playing on the play ground. Sounds like a perfect preschool!

Harrison's baby blessing

After our trip to Mexico, Jared and Holly drove over to stay with us for the weekend. During that time, before Mom and Denny flew back home, we blessed Harrison in our home. It was a really special night surrounded by both mine and Jeremy's family. At one point in the evening, I was able to just step back and see just how much we have to be grateful for. Jeremy and I used to dream of the day when we could have our own house and host family events. It was a bit overwhelming to see how much love and support we've received as we've strived to raise our little family.

Of course, we were all so excited and grateful to be able to welcome and bless Harrison into our family. He is such a good baby and sweet boy!
