Jeremy & I looked for community celebrations for Memorial Day. We miss attending small celebrations with local bands and fireworks that they had in the DC area. Since we didn't find any such activities, we went to the Phoenix Zoo instead. Jen & Kimball Smith joined us too. It was the first time Jeremy had gone and he seemed to enjoy it as much as Emory and the kids. We saw a few animals before letting the kids play around in the splash pad area. It was a good day. We're grateful for the Smiths. It's always fun to share these experiences with such good friends.
We also enjoyed the first family swim in our big pool! It was amazing. Jeremy & I are still pinching ourselves that this is actually our house and our pool. How grateful we are for such a blessing. The kids really enjoy it too. So much in fact, they both took three hour naps after the AM swim.
